Afghan govt derailed US talks with Taliban

US officials confirmed on Monday a media report that the Afghan government deliberately leaked details of the United States’ secret meetings with a Taliban emissary, scuttling the US-Taliban talks and sending the intermediary into hiding.

AU Commission Chief Says Gadhafi Forces Must Accept Defeat

African Union Commission chief Jean Ping says loyalists of Moammar Gadhafi in Libya must accept defeat and stop fighting. Ping is urging Gadhafi to “understand” that his opponents have taken power, and to act in order to avoid further bloodshed.

NATO Says Situation in North Kosovo Is Still Tense

Austria Sending 160 Troops to U.N.’s Lebanon Mission

Iran will examine questions if IAEA takes a serious step

Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Director Fereydoun Abbasi has said that Tehran is ready to continue talks on the issues or questions raised recently by the International Atomic Energy Organization about Iran’s nuclear program if the agency takes a serious step to resolve dispute over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear issue.
